This Free WordPress Theme includes:

Theme Installation:
1. Download Good Theme Lead and unzip it,
2. Upload folder Themes folder in your WordPress installation,
3. Go to Appearance>Themes, find Good Theme Lead and activate it,
4. Go to Appearance>Good Theme theme options and setup your theme.
Theme Setup:
Put your logo URL,
Choose color scheme,
Exclude categories (if you want to),
Choose your Featured category and number of featured posts (displaying on homepage),
For displaying images in featured posts you have to fill custom fields:
In the custom field area, enter the Name as screen and the Value as the url of the image (480×220 px).
In regular posts are thumbnail creating automatically.
BTW: You can fill excerpt field by creating or editing post too.

Set Up your sidebar layout and About Me Image (paste full URL of image) and About Me text:
Set Up Featured Video category (YouTube video – with 300 x 247px), and usernames from social community sites:
Set Up your banners images URLs and destinations URLs or past AdSense code (468×60px) or disable ads slots in header or content:
Set Up your ads (125×125px) images URLs and destinations URLs:
If you are finished click on “Save changes” button!
And you are done.

My “featured section” pictures do not appear on the homepage. They look just like blank rectangular boxes. I’m new to this and would appreciate any help I can get.

I’m trying to place google adds on the page but when I save the modifications (google script) on “Good Theme Options” it change the code. It places some “/” in the code.
Can anyone help me?

I was displaying the featured video, but then it went away after I changed the category name. Does anyone know how to troubleshoot the Featured Video section?

Hi, go to theme options and choose new category for displaing video posts in video section.
Thanks for the tip… it is still not working. I even changed the category to the default name but it still does not seem to work. It is weird because it was working for me before… I even tried changing around the pixels of the video preview
So I found that the when I included ‘video’ or ‘media’ in the name of the Featured Video category it did not work… Kinda seems weird but hey, that’s WordPress with its spaghetti coding for ya
The “smart you-tube” plugin has helped facilitate the video features for this theme.

Still setting up a few things, and I wonder why I cannot get the “feedburner” link to work with my feedburner account. The theme calls a “gtt_feedburner…” option which is nowhere in my configuration. Do I need a specific plugin ? Any idea ? Thanks a lot

I have the same For ex. I can’t do anything about the footer (Widget Ready Block) since i am no coder… and on home page would be nice some thumbs of the stuff I put in the post. Any thoughts?

Does anyone else have problems with this theme not loading the footer? I’ve been working with it for a while customizing WP, not touching the theme files, and all of a sudden the footer no longer loads. Why would the files change?

1. How do you select the image for the featured story on the main page?
2. Is it possible to deactivate the image accompanying the featured story?
3. It is possible to position widgets above the elements pre-set in “Sidebar Set-up”?

Could you please let us all know a way of us choosing what thumbnail shows in the homepage. A few people have wrote comments on here requesting a manual way to change this, because at the moment the automatic selection you have going always seems to pick the wrong image from the post.

how do i make videos show up on the home page… like all of my posts are videos so how do i got the videos to show on the home screen? i am dumb.
also how do i only get 1 column of posts to show on the home page… currently it displays them in 2 columns side by side then the sidebar, and i want to change it to just 1 column and the sidebar…. thanks!

is anyone else having trouble getting their images to work on page 2 and on? it seems the theme can’t recall the screen image past the home page
Hi Great theme but just two problems.
1) About text – it is typed correctly biy all appostrophes are preceded by a \ when viewed eg Duncan’s sgows as Duncan\’s.
2)I have followed the wp instruction for pasting script in the header but I cannot get my favicon to show in the adress bar.
I would appreiciate guidance.

Can anyone help me get my pictures back, i.e., a few weeks ago my posts do not show any associated pictures on either the “blog page” or in the sidebar. I’ve tried changing versions of the theme and that doesn’t help either. Thanks in advance! HIHR
I am using your good theme and it is great except I don’t want my main page to display my posts in small thumbnail links to where you have to click on them to open the full size post up. I just want my main page to show the full posts in their full sizes in a long running list like most standard themes. Is there a way I can do this using this theme?

My issue is that the none of the settings save within the Good Theme Options, it says “Good Theme settings saved.” at the top once I have made changes but on the options page reload everythings blank.

got the prev version of wordpress V1.1 i think and that worked fine.
I have made sure no files are getting muddled up, even renamed the folders between resets.

great theme and I found just a small typo mistake in “Go to Apperance>Themes, find Good Theme Lead and activete it,” it should be appearance and activate
Great theme, but after using it for a while, I ran into a weird issue: when I upload an image as the screen for a post, everything works perfectly. When I used an image from another post, the image does not consistently appear on the front page. It appears in the “featured” banner section on the top, but it does not appear in the post section below.
1. i would like get the entire post to show up on the home page, not just an summary.
2. Also, i am having issues with the home page’s main image and how to get it to display. I have read the instructions a few times but must be missing something
Did you find a solution to these two? If so would you care to share for either or both??
